Best New House Bathroom Designs

FRESH CITRUS

The powder area's present citrus-yellow wallpaper in this vibrant home appears much fresher with the addition of a window color in a chartreuse-yellow silk, trimmed in Barbara Barry's Tang Tassel -- both by Krave.

NATURAL WOOD SHIPLAP

At a Charleston guest house, the master bathroom's sinks are by Kohler, the unlacquered brass fittings are by Watermark Designs and the shower is lined in Alabama white marble. The sconces are 1930s Italian. The walls have been lined using a tung-oil finish in cypress shiplap.

SPANISH COLONIAL

In a powder room, an antique chest out of Provence adds a curvaceous contrast to the graphic tiles, original into the Richmond, Virginia, home. Walls painted in Benjamin Moore's China White.

CORNER MIRROR

The planet's tiniest powder rooms should copy this configuration. Whilst clutter gets stashed behind the fabric skirt each inch hung at an angle over a corner sink maximizes. Add a dose of charm by mounting plates and sneaking in an orchid that is elegant.

FEMININE GLAMOUR

"It's critical to create your bathroom lovely -- it sets the tone for the day," says Florida designer Cheryl Kees Clendenon. With this notion as her driving force, she set out to create a space which has been "feminine, young, and joyful" for a teen woman's en suite bathroom.

BRAVE BLACK

An Alexander McQueen skull pillow was the catalyst for this bold en suite bathroom in Chicago's trendy Wicker Park area. "I wanted play!" Says designer SuzAnn Kletzien, who notes that putting a contemporary, jewelry-inspired chandelier over a claw-foot bath "surely satisfied that desire."
